Internet Connectivity Disruption

Monitoring
Connectivity issues affecting OISE and the University of Toronto have now been resolved. We will continue to monitor the situation and notify the OISE community if any additional services are impacted.

Identified
The University of Toronto is currently experiencing widespread internet connectivity issues affecting multiple buildings, including the OISE Building at 252 Bloor Street West. This disruption is impacting access to several essential university systems, including:
- Duo multifactor authentication
- Single Sign-On (SSO) services
- Various U of T applications
- VOiP technologyWe will share updates as soon as more information becomes available.
Some UofT services are currently degraded and may affect certain users

UTORvpn (GeneralVPN): Users outside Canada may experience issues.
Recommendation: Use admin2 VPN while the issue is being resolved.Outlook for Web: Some users may see delayed sending or 鈥渟omething went wrong鈥 messages. The M365 team has opened a ticket with Microsoft Premier Support.
Recommendation: Use the Outlook desktop or mobile app as a workaround.We don鈥檛 anticipate a significant impact on the OISE community, but we鈥檒l continue to monitor updates on the .

On August 25, 2025, the University of Toronto's central networking team updated the security certificates for all wireless networks across St. George Campus. This change affects Wi-Fi connectivity at OISE, JICS, and 371 Bloor Street West, and will impact members of the OISE community trying to connect to the wireless network.
Depending on your device, you may need to make minor adjustments to reconnect:
Mac Devices (including iPhones and iPads)
- You will be prompted to re-enter your password.
- After entering your password, your device should reconnect automatically.
- You may also need to confirm trust in the new network certificate.
Windows Devices (including Android phones)
Some users will be prompted to re-enter their password. If not prompted, follow these steps:
- Forget the UofT wireless network.
- Reconnect to the network.
- Enter your UTORid credentials again.

Monitoring
Wireless connectivity on the 8th and 10th floors of OISE has been restored following yesterday's scheduled maintenance.

In addition to the scheduled outage, during the week of July 2 鈥 July 5, 2025, the 8th and 10th floor of OISE will experience both wired and wireless outages. This is to part of the recabling project, and to ensure greater stability of both the wired and wireless networking at OISE.
