More than 70 local employers and industry partners attended ÃÀÓÕÖ±²¥â€™s recent Community Connect event, to discuss the current and future jobs landscape on the Gold Coast.
Schools, government and Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) also attended the event, which featured a panel discussion about the challenges and benefits of apprenticeships and traineeships.
A total of 14 ÃÀÓÕÖ±²¥ staff, including Apprenticeship Field Consultants, Mentors and Field Operations Managers were on hand to answer questions about employment pathways on the Gold Coast, how to navigate the apprentice/trainee system, and the supports available to help build a skilled workforce.
The Department of Trade, Employment and Training, Gold Coast Health and Construction Skills Queensland were also represented.
Among the topics of discussion were identifying growth industries in the local area and what job opportunities they present, the most common issues that ÃÀÓÕÖ±²¥ has identified which require support for both employers and apprentices, and what benefits apprentices and trainees bring to the workplace.
ÃÀÓÕÖ±²¥ has held several Community Connect events across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria over the past six months. They’ve already proved a valuable connector between candidates and employers, and several more are planned over the rest of 2025.
